Welcome To Our Hospital Tour
We have tried to create an environment that is friendly to both our clients and our patients. The hospital has an open floor plan to allow for better movement and easier access. We don’t have a large waiting area because we pride ourselves in being ready for you so you can enter one of our 6 exam rooms quickly. Our treatment area is open so you can watch what we do and how we do it. Patient handling is important and you can watch how we take a hands-off approach to our work.
Tour Stops:
Reception: The reception desk is the traffic control center. We have two areas to
check in or out. This allows us to move animals through without the typical
dog to dog interaction. We have a kid favorite salt water fish tank where
they can spot starfish, Nemo and Dory. Our entrance is not cluttered with
products. We have kept most of our products behind the scenes so we can
make an open environment for pets on leashes.
Treatment: The treatment room is Grand Central Station. All other areas of the hospital can be visualized from this space. It allows us to easily move to x-ray, surgery, dental, boarding, bathing room, or discharge. This area has been designed especially to maximize comfort and reduce stress for our patients. All of our medications, supplies and computer work stations are accessible from this room.
Surgery: The surgery suite is a state-of-the-art veterinary surgical center. It is equipped with monitoring equipment and the safest anesthetic equipment. There are two heated surgery tables and a heated recovery area. Everything from spays and neuters, to extensive orthopedic and laser surgery will be preformed here. We have an ultrasound machine for noninvasive diagnostic imaging and biopsies. While under anesthesia we also can tattoo animals for the AKC tattoo registry or just to match the owners personal taste.
Laboratory: Our state of the art in-house laboratory allows us to test a full array of internal organ functions, complete CBC, feline leukemia/FIV testing, intestinal parasite testing, and canine parvo testing as well. Because these tests are done in the hospital, we can have results within 30 minutes.
Dental: The dental area is preserved only for dental procedures. There is a dental x-ray machine, dental units for cleaning, and surgical tools for endodontics. The procedures completed range from general cleaning to extractions. Animal dentistry mimics human dentistry in the procedures that can be done.
Radiology: We offer a full line of radiographic services. We process all x-rays and dental x-rays in house for instant viewing. These are then transferred to I-pads for viewing. We have electronic access to Board certified radiologists at all times.
Exam Rooms: We have 6 exam rooms. We have specific large dog, small dog and cat exam rooms. We offer a lift table for injured animals and large breeds.
Why People Love Birkdale Animal Hospital
-
Experience. Registered, licensed, educated and trained technicians. Not all technicians are equal. Our staff has gone to school and invested in their job. They do continuing education and are bound by state rules and regulations. You should always ask if your tech is registered.
-
Compassion. This is not our job it is our life. We live in this town, our kids go to school here, we shop here, and invest back into this town. We are family owned and operated. We have one location and we are here to serve you.
-
Quality. We offer what your pet needs, not what is available. We only use quality products and stand behind our products and services to always make it right.
Each client is different and each patient is different, that's why we craft our approach for each and every individual.
